Apache charters is a family owned business that was started by Matt Howard in 1999 and he is the longest owner/operator in the WA charter industry.
Apache Charters is an Australian Tourism Accredited Business so whether you are on a fishing on a week long live aboard charter at the Abrolhos, Shark Bay, Dirk Hartog or a Montebello Islands fishing adventure, a Perth Swan River Cruise a Rottnest island boat charter or a day boat charter to Carnac Island you will always be guaranteed of a quality experience and professional service.
Why Choose Apache Charters for your next Swan River Cruise, Rottnest Island boat Charter or a Carnac Island Charter.
You will deal directly with the owners, Apache Charters is probably the only charter company that DOES NOT pay booking agents to deal with our clients. This gives you peace of mind and confidence in knowing, that when you book a charter on the Lady Grace, the owner and crew know exactly all the personalised booking details for your charter.
We operate all year, we are a full time charter company with full time staff. This is not a charter company that simply works in summer. Which means that you know that we are a professional tourism company offering the best charter experience for our clients. Being in business since 1999, is testament to that.
Our Lady Grace is a superb, lovingly maintained versatile and exceptionally clean vessel.
We do operate week long live board fishing charters in the north west and the boat is fully equipped for these charters, however when the season changes to our Perth Boat charters, all fishing gear is removed and the vessel is modified into boat function mode. If you are worried about booking a boat that operates fishing charters and wont be up to standard for a river cruise, then please best rest assured this is NOT the case with our Lady Grace - 19 years running successful charters is testament to that misconception. If you are still unsure, you are more than welcome to view our vessel in Fremantle from Mid November to February when the Lady Grace is in boat function mode. We have never had a guest view the vessel and NOT book a charter.
BTW the Lady Grace is big, the back deck is massive, plus the extra seating in the flybridge, the Lady Grace easily has plenty of room for our maximum 70 guests licence.
Booking a charter can be daunting, Apache Charters makes it simple and easy. Our Apache Team can handle everything, our office staff will organise all food and drinks, and all you have to do is step on and enjoy your function. Yes its that easy.

Why us or why choose Apache Charters for your next north west fishing adventure at the Abrolhos Islands, Shark Bay, Dirk Hartog and Montebello Islands.
Owner/ operator for 20 years, we are busy, our vessel spends more time a year out fishing than it does in port. We leave Fremantle in March and don’t return till the end of November. What does this mean for you the client, the fisherman? Well its more spots, thousands of marks on the plotter which is also constantly being added to.
This means more options for you, which means more fish.
The boat, the Lady Grace is a serious blue water fishing vessel, expertly set up to fish and to fish hard but still fitted with plenty of comfort for when you’re not fishing.
She was built by Freeman Bay boat builders and is a 65-west coaster.
In commercial boat building terms, she’s out of the big mould which means she’s wide and she’s heavy, she has a beam of 6 metres, draws 1.8 metres with a full length solid keel and weighs just under 40 tonnes.
These boats were built locally to handle our west Australian coastal conditions.
Again, what does this mean for you, the fisherman? Well as any good experienced commercial fisherman/skipper will tell you, when its comes to boats you can’t beat weight in the water.
So, with a big keel this means that when drift fishing the drift rate is slow you can hold bottom better and when anchored the swing rate is reduced and slower.
These vessel specifications are what’s needed and required if your serious about fishing the wild and rugged Western Australian Coast.
Don’t just take our word for it, check out our 5-star reviews on our Facebook page for our Abrolhos, Monties and Shark Bay Charters.
Absolutely first-class fishing charter! Owner/Skipper Mat, Skipper Jack and Chef Mark were the most obliging and professional people you could come across. There tireless enthusiasm and continued effort throughout the 4 days is to be commended and it ensured that we had the best experience possible. The boat is huge, plenty of space for fishing, relaxing and having beautiful meals. Nothing was too much trouble for Matt and his team. Thank you for a great trip. Regards, Tony Martin
